Driving Directions
From the east - Calais, Caen, Cherbourg, St Malo - and south Vannes, Nantes
This link should take you to the www.mappy.com website where you can plan a route from route from Calais to Le Pouldu (choose 29360) using toll roads. The toll fee is around 23 euros and the distance is just short of 700 kms (440 miles).
Head for Rennes and then west for Lorient, Brest, Nantes.
As you approach Loreint keep following signs for Lorient and Brest and you the motorway will take you north heading towards BREST and QUIMPER
You are going to pass to the east of Lorient (Lorient will be on your left, therefore) as you head north on the N165.
You will cross a new bridge and then you need to start looking for the turn off for GUIDEL.
Take the Guidel exit and follow signs for CENTRE VILLE (no translation required here!).
In Guidel town centre you need to go straight ahead at the juntion opposite the church. There should be a fish shop on the corner to your right.
Go straight ahead keeping the church on your left and Villa Toscana on your right.
Turn RIGHT at the juntion heading for CLOHARS-CARNOET. You should pass a disused garage forecourt on your right after 100 metres. (If you don't you have turned left. Go round the church and start again).
Carry on to the roundabout where you want to take the 2nd exit. Go on to the next roundabout where you go straight ahead.
You are now on the home straight, heading over the super bridge at St Maurice and up the hill on the far side.
After 2 kms you will appraoch a crossroads with a restaurant on the left hand side and lots of blue signposts on the corner of the crossroads. Turn LEFT here towards LE POULDU.
Go down the hill, round 3 or 4 bends and at the bottom you stay straight on up the other side. After 200 metres, you will see the campsite signs on the right. Turn RIGHT and go up the campsite road. Reception is the wooden building in front of you.
Depending on the time of year you are coming and the time of day you get here, you will find us either in reception, in the house at the site entrance or across the road in the bar.

The following driving tips should be noted when in France;
- If it is raining the speed limit drops by 20kms/hour
- It is obligatory to have your lights on when driving in the rain
- You must carry a red warning triangle and a spare set of bulbs in the car.
- If you get stopped for speeding expect to pay an on the spot fine.
- English credit cards very often do not work in automatic petrol station pumps. Petrol stations in towns are not open on Sunday afternoons so do not expect to be able to fill up with at a 24/7 with your credit card.
- Ensure you have the details of your car handy in the event of a breakdown
From the North - Roscoff, Brest
Exiting the ferry port follow signs for Morlaix which will bring you to the expressway after about 20kms.
Take the expressway signposted Lorient, Quimper. Stay on this road until the next exit and take rod again for Lorient and Quimper.
This will take you over the hills via the scenic route. Ignore the turning at the roundabout for Lorient and head for Pleyben.
Shortly after Pleyben you will hit the N165.
Head south on the N165 towards Quimper, Lorient, Nantes
Stay on N165 until you approach Quimperle
Take the turn off for Quimperle West and Kervinadou. The signpost also says CLOHARS CARNOET
At the top go towards the roundabout and take the 2nd exit towards CLOHARS CARNOET
At the next roundabout take 1st exit and at the next roundabout also take the first exit again towards CLOHARS CARNOET
Follow this road for around 8 kms until you approach CLOHARS
Just at the junction with the church you will see a sign at the crossraods to the left LE QUINQUIS
Turn left here and continue for 2kms to a crossroads with a restaurant on the corner
Turn right here to LE POULDU
Continue down the hill and as you start to climb the other side you will see campsite signs on the right
